Pivot
About Pivot
Pivot puts Australian bookmakers’ head-to-head prices side by side so you can see how they compare. It’s an information tool. It isn’t a bookmaker, a tipping service or advice.
What Pivot is, and isn’t
- It compares prices. It doesn’t take bets, hold money or have accounts.
- It isn’t affiliated with any bookmaker and isn’t paid when you visit one.
- It doesn’t tell you what to bet on. Nothing here is a tip or a recommendation.
What the numbers mean
- Implied chance
- The chance a price suggests: 100 ÷ the price. Odds of 2.00 imply 50%; 4.00 implies 25%.
- Bookie’s cut (margin)
- Add up a bookmaker’s implied chances for every outcome and you get more than 100%, say 105%. The extra is their built-in cut.
- Fair price
- The price with each bookmaker’s cut taken out, averaged across the bookmakers you’ve selected. An estimate of what the price would be if nobody took a cut.
- +% above fair
- How far one bookmaker’s price sits above that fair estimate.
- Under 100%
- Rarely, the best prices across different bookmakers add up to less than 100%. It’s usually a short-lived gap or a delay in the data.
What they don’t mean
- Odds are bookmakers’ prices, not predictions. A price above fair isn’t more likely to win.
- Because of their margins, bookmakers come out ahead over time. On average, betting costs money.
- Prices change quickly and can lag what the bookmaker shows. Always check with them directly.
Your data
There are no accounts. Your bookmaker filter, favourite teams and sort choice are saved only in this browser. Odds come from The Odds API; bookmaker logos come from Google’s public favicon service.
